Melbourne Medieval Fayre and Tourney

Once again, in 2008, the historical time Period will include Ancients (Greek / Roman), Dark Ages (Vikings etc), Medieval, English Civil War, Napoleonic Wars, American Civil War and Early Australian Colonial. Melbourne is fortunate to have a number of enthusiastic historical re-enactment and re-creation groups, involved in these periods of history who preserve aspects of historical life from these historical periods and bring them forward into the 21st century.

All these things will once again be brought together in this unique Victorian event, with performances of historical encampments, clothes, and war, using swords, pikes and muskets from the various periods of history, for the entertainment, experience and education of the public.

Our special guest performers this year will be Victoria's own "The King's Horses Medieval Equestrian Society Inc." The King's Horses will be performing the mounted skill-at-arms and jousting displays over the weekend.

The event also brings forth craft guilds and associations continuing the traditions of the past with their crafts, with demonstrations, advise and education.

The event with its food stalls and merchants selling their wares, will once again be full of excitement and a great and inexpensive family day out.
