2009 Great Victorian Bike Ride
In 2009 it travels along the Great Ocean Road! Starting in Portland, participants ride 550 kilometers over nine days along the Great Ocean Road and through beachside and country towns. For all ages and cycling abilities this is your chance to escape to 'A week in another world.'
This years marks the 26th year of the Ride and is the longest running event for Bicycle Victoria. Starting in Portland, the Ride travels out and back to Cape Bridgewater, before heading to Macarthur, down to Port Fairy, along the Great Ocean Road to Port Campbell and Apollo Bay where it stops for a rest day. A road closure gets riders from Apollo bay to Anglesea along the ocean road, then onto a final night party in Queenscliff, before finishing in Geelong for a heroes finish!
