Portfolio Partners Around the Bay in a Day® - Get Sponsored for The Smith Family
Portfolio Partners Around the Bay in a Day is Australia's premier mass participation bike ride. Now in its sixteenth year, the event has recently experienced significant growth, with over 14,000 riders participating in 2007. These riders fundraise for official charity partner, The Smith Family.
The event offers a choice of four ride distances: 50km, 100km, 210km and 250km. The ride takes in some of Melbourne's most scenic and popular riding routes around Port Phillip Bay and includes the West Gate Bridge, Beach Road and the Mornington and Bellarine Peninsulas.
A number of new features have recently been introduced to consolidate the event's position as Australia's biggest and best mass participation bike ride. This includes the development of strategic corporate and media a closer association with the Jayco Herald Sun Tour; and an ongoing audit of the route and traffic management activities, to ensure the highest standard of event delivery and experience.
The Portfolio Partners Around the Bay in a Day is also part of the Melbourne Cycling Festival (17 - 19 October). There will be plenty of activities happening all weekend culminating in a celebration of all the rider's achievements at the free Finish Festival in Alexandra Gardens, with live music, roving entertainment, corporate hospitality, GO Bike Expo, a bar and of course great coffee and food which goes hand in hand with cycling.
