Wodonga s annual Carnivale is going bizarre!
Carnivale Wodonga BIZARRE 2009 will see Wodonga s CBD transformed into a bizarre display on March 7, 2009.
Hosted by Wodonga Council, the event will feature two main stages with music to suit all audiences, a performance stage featuring all things bizarre, along with impromptu performances, stilt walkers, fire-eaters and circus acts, teamed with street vendors selling tempestuous fare.
Carnivale Wodonga has grown from the city's Commonwealth Games initiative, Jonkunuu Jamaican Carnivale, in 2006, which was a vibrant, cultural festival with outstanding arts elements.
In 2007, the festival theme took place again with Carnivale Wodonga HOT, while in 2008, the colourful and energetic experience of Carnivale Wodonga WILD delivered to an audience of 20,000 people.
From small things bigger things grow.
For 2009, Carnivale Wodonga BIZARRE will take centre stage. In the lead-up to the event, Todos Arte art workshops will be held.
