Upper Goulburn Wine Region - Wine & Food Expo
The Upper Goulburn is a significant wine grape growing area in Australia, producing premium award winning wines. There are some 25 wine labels in the region, producing wine from grapes grown in over 30 vineyards. Grapes have been grown in the Upper Goulburn Wine Region for over 30 years.
The Upper Goulburn extends across from Tallarook to Mansfield, south to the Great Dividing Range and north to Lake Nillacootie. It includes regional centres such as Yea, Alexandra and Eildon. The region derives its name from the predominant feature, the Goulburn River. This wine grape growing region includes a range of climates mainly in the cooler spectrum. The terrain is hilly with a proportion of river flats.
The Lake Eildon tourism region is central to our district and attracts mainly holiday makers and day trippers. Trout fishing, water skiing and bush walking in summer through to snow sports in winter are all within the Upper Goulburn Wine Region. With the accommodation alternatives available, Upper Goulburn is a great place to eat fine food, drink some great wine and enjoy the local hospitality.
