Meeka Outback Festival
The annual Meeka Outback Festival is an entertaining bush event held on the Queen’s birthday weekend in September. The festival has been developing over the last five years attracting people from all over Western Australia to share Meeka’s unique cultural mix and hospitality.
The weekend opens on the Friday evening with a family fun night on the town oval, with stalls, kids rides and a fantastic firework display.
Crowds fill the town centre on Saturday morning to watch colourful floats and a trolley race. Then off to the Race Club for the afternoon races and dancing the night away to a live band under the desert stars.
Cowboys and cowgirls come into town for the Sunday Rodeo and then everyone puts on their best to dance the night away to a live band at the Meekatharra Outback Ball. Then back to the racetrack for the Monday races.
