Port Fairy Folk Festival
Australia's world famous music festival is a major event presenting major international and national artists in a four day festival of folk, blues, jazz, bluegrass, country, rock, contemporary and world roots music plus a Children's Folk Circus and Free Festival of the Streets. It began in 1977 and has received Victorian and Australian Tourism Awards. With over 130 acts and more than 500 artists the festival is a vibrant and exciting cultural celebration which magically transforms the fishing village evoking tradition but looking to the future. First class performances are held on large stages in the Festival Arena and at venues throughout the town plus market stalls, buskers and street events.
