Red Bull Air Race and Festival
In its fourth year, the Red Bull Air Race World Series concludes in Perth over the Swan River for the second time with the city skyline as the race backdrop. The event will run over two days with qualifying taking place on Saturday 1st November and Race Day on Sunday 2nd November, 2008. This year, fourteen of the world’s most talented pilots will compete against each other in a race based on speed, precision and skill.
Over 300,000 spectators lined the banks of the Swan River in Perth, Western Australia in November, 2006, to lay witness to one of the most exciting motor sport events to have been launched on the international scene. In 2008, the Red Bull Air Race World Series switches to a higher gear with new venues, new pilots and a new race form. Twelve instead of eight races, including Rio and San Diego, fourteen instead of eleven pilots and a knockout final will top last years sensational success.
The Red Bull Air Race is a free event that will entertain people of all ages and will include commentary, music and big screens. The best vantage point will be from Sir James Mitchell Park, South Perth, but get there early to avoid disappointment.
The Perth leg of the Air Race is the last of twelve races that have been held in various international destinations. Make sure you don’t miss out on the experience of the Red Bull Air Race, right here in Western Australia.
