The first Fremantle Festival was held in 1905 and over the past 100 years has retained the tradition of celebrating the things that contribute to making Fremantle such a unique place in which to live, work and play. Five core events are produced by the City of Fremantle: the opening event, the Wardarnji Aboriginal Cultural Celebration, the Kite Extravaganza, the Carnival and the Lotterywest Street Parade.
