9th Sydney International Piano Competition of Australia Winner's Recital 2008
Enjoy an evening of superb music presented by one of the worlds most exciting and gifted pianists performing repertoire from the great masters. The winner of the 2008 Sydney International competition will be announced at the Sydney Opera House on Saturday the 2nd August and audiences have the unique opportunity to hear the latest sensation in the music world, only days later at the Perth Concert Hall.
The 2008 Sydney International Piano Competitions one of the world’s most prestigious competitions for up and coming young pianists aged between 17 and 30 years old. First presented in 1977 and held every four years, the competition now attracts more applicants than any other piano competition. Thirty six pianists are finally selected from auditions around the world.
All performances will be broadcast by ABC's Classic FM station from 15 July to 2 August 2008.
