Horse power and high fashion come together in Western Australia’s premier horse race, the BMW Perth Cup, held at Ascot Racecourse on New Year’s Day.
The BMW Perth Cup is the highlight of the Summer Racing Carnival. The race attracts a cosmopolitan crowd of around 30,000 people who gather to enjoy a fabulous day of racing, fashion and entertainment.
The BMW Perth Cup began in 1887 and has a long and illustrious history. Taking pride of place at the top of Perth’s social calendar its Western Australia’s premier horse race as well as the first major social event of the New Year.
