The Doctor Surf Ski World Cup
The Doctor is Australia’s greatest ocean paddling event, held annually over two days attracting the world’s best ocean paddlers on surf ski’s, stand up paddle boards and single outrigger canoes.
Race 1 incorporates the Surf Ski World Cup, a 27 kilometre downwind race from Rottnest Island to Hillarys Marina, a unique island to mainland crossing where competitors battle it out in spectacular racing conditions.
Race 2 hots up with the State of Origin and International Teams Challenge which is raced along Perth’s scenic coastline from Fremantle to Hillarys Marina, relay teams of two compete head to head.
Every year international and interstate paddler’s return to ‘The Doctor’ as Perth always guarantees strong winds, making for exciting offshore racing. The event attracts both the elite paddler including Olympians, the best ironmen and women in the country, along with recreational paddlers who come along to enjoy two days of great paddling activities.
