ACT Demographics
The population of the Australian Capital Territory at the last national Census was 311,947 people (153,388 males and 158,559 females) with an average age of 32. There were 3,576 people of Indigenous origin living in the region.

Three quarters of the population were Australian-born with the remaining residents hailing from the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Germany. English was the only language spoken at home by 82% of the population, with Chinese, Italian and Croatian the next most common languages spoken.
IT
Of the population, 57% had recently used a personal computer at home with 18% under 20 years old, 25% between 20 and 44 and 14% aged 44 and over. The total number of people who had used the Internet was 169,149.
labour force
During the week prior to Census 160,866 people in the Australian Capital Territory (83,532 males and 77,334 females) were employed, representing 95% of the labour force. Of these 66% were working full-time. Within the total workforce 11% were employed as Managers and Administrators and 26% as Professionals.
