Western Australia Geography

When one thinks of Western Australia, dusty desert plains come to mind. However, several remarkably lush and wet regions make the landscape of this state a unique and beautiful blend of scenery.

The Nullarbor Plains, the Outback and landmarks like the desolate rocky spikes of The Pinnacles are wild and rugged, sometimes flat and featureless aspects of the state’s landscape. Dotted with spectacular gorges and thundering waterfalls and rivers, the national parks are untamed nature at its best.

Offshore and equally significant is the underwater marine landscape of Ningaloo Marine Park where undulating seabeds of colourful corals and marine life make this a valuable geographical feature of the Coral Coast region. more
