Lake Illawarra

  • Lake Illawarra is a large tidal lake with a surface area of 35 square kilometres, and a 37 kilometres shoreline. The saltwater lake is home to majestic black swans, pelicans, the royal spoonbill and other water birds, and is a good prawning ground. For a great family outing visit Reddall Reserve. It has plenty of picnic and barbecue facilities and is a fun and safe playground for families. On the shores of Lake Illawarra is the Illawarra Yacht Club, host to the National Sailing Titles and the Windsurfer Class World Championship.
