Laurel Hill

Rural

The hamlet of Laurel Hill is located 22 kilometres from Tumbarumba on the road to Batlow and Tumut. The mill here once produced hard wood timber for many years, specialising in the production of timber for boat oars and sulky shafts.

Nearby Laurel Hill is the Bago State Forest, which provides great mountain bike trails, four-wheel drive tracks, fossicking, and fishing at Paddy’s River Dam.

Other attractions include the Hume and Hovell Track, Asgard Nursery and Tea Room and Pilot Hill Arboretum and picnic area.

Explore the spectacular Sugar Pine Walk with its beautiful collection of sugar pines and picnic at nearby Lochinvar picnic area under the shady heritage trees.
