Blacks Beach

Suburb

Blacks Beach is located just 15 minutes’ drive from the centre of Mackay. It’s the longest of Mackay’s northern beaches, and a great place to base yourself as you explore what this balmy North Queensland destination has to offer.

Boasting six kilometres of sparkling sand and gentle waters, this palm-lined beach is perfect for swimming, sunbathing and relaxing with a good book.

The beach fishing here is fantastic with bream and whiting on the menu.

Accommodation at Blacks Beach ranges from camping and caravan parks to self-contained, resort and motel style apartments. Plenty of accommodation is within easy walking distance to the beach.

Popular with walkers, Blacks Beach is a pet-friendly beach, however it is not an off-leash area and therefore all pets must be kept on their lead and under control.

Nearby amenities include a friendly tavern as well as a shopping centre which provides a number of dining options. A larger shopping centre is a five minute drive from Blacks Beach.
