  • Laura is a small town, with a population around 100 people on the Cape York Peninsula in Tropical North Queensland. the township boasts the largest collection of prehistoric rock art in the world. The area around Laura is known for Quinkans, giant figures who according to Aboriginal legend, were spirits that lived in the crevices of rocks. They would emerge from the cracks to frighten people into properly. Basically the Quinkan spirits were 'boogie men' of the Laura area.
