• The small wheatbelt town of Wickepin lays two and a half hours drive south east of Perth. The well known Australian author Albert Facey lived in Wickepin and many of his stories are about the area. His house has been moved to the centre of the town as a tourist attraction. The homestead was built in 1924 and has been fully restored. It includes a wash house, outside toilet and garden. The Albert Facey Trail brings to life the story of his famous book ''A Fortunate Life'' and makes a pleasant half day drive. Don''t miss the historic photographic collection
