The Central Coast, just a step away from Sydney, covers 80 kilometres of coastline north from the Hawkesbury River. With excellent resorts areas like Terrigal, Avoca and The Entrance, the Central Coast enjoys a longstanding reputation as a quality holiday destination.
While the area is attractive to all, families are particularly drawn to the clean, refreshing environment and glorious sandy beaches. Terrigal, set beside a long sandy beach has great cafes and boutiques. While there, venture to "The Skillion", a soaring headland jutting into the Pacific for great views. The Entrance is famous for its relaxing family holidays, and is the place to go for boating, fishing, kids' entertainment and casual outdoor dining. Check out the famous daily feeding of the pelicans for the chance to see the birds up close.
Brisbane Water National Park is renowned for its spring wildflowers and Aboriginal carvings, which you can explore while bushwalking.
The Central Coast features many other National Parks, which also offer unspoiled environments for bushwalking and outdoor pursuits. North of Broken Bay, the Bouddi National Park has camping facilities and excellent coastal walking trails.
