Toukley is situated on a narrow neck of land between Tuggerah and Budgewoi Lakes. It has a shopping centre, hotel and motel accommodation, caravan parks, picnic areas and clubs.

Some of the tourist attractions include surf and lake beaches, Tuggerah Lake, Munmorah Lake, boating, Norah Head Lighthouse and Toukley Gardens.
