Yerranderie is an historic silver mining town. Silver was discovered at Yerranderie in 1871 with silver mines opening in 1898. For 20 years the teams
hauled machinery and silver until the vast yield gave out. Today Yerranderie is a restored ghost town with a wildlife sanctuary and an environmental field
study centre. Yerranderie is cut off by the water of Warragamba Dam and is located in and near national parks.
