Gunbar, New South Wales

Gunbar is situated on the Mid-Western Highway between Goolgowi and Hay. The small community of Gunbar is the remnants of the pioneer era and still in excellent condition is the church, boasting vibrantly coloured intricate stain glass windows. Evidence of the township is clear from the groups of peppercorn trees marking the site of past residences. The historic cemetery has many interesting graves including the grave of Barbara Blain, said to be the women referred to in the Black Stump legend.
