Southport, Queensland

Southport is just north of Surfers Paradise and is considered the central business district of the Gold Coast. It's home to Sea World and some of the world's most luxurious hotels. Southport overlooks the Broadwater and the Southport Spit, which is a long sandbar that divides the Broadwater from the Pacific Ocean. The beautiful parklands along here provide great picnic areas and water-lined walkways. For those with a hunger for adventure the Broadwater also offers a range of watersports.

There is excellent shopping in Southport at the Marina Mirage and the Australia Fair Shopping Centre, and a variety of modern cafes and restaurants.
