Gone fishing ...
This region is endowed with picturesque freshwater dams and rivers teeming with fish where you can wet a line in green, tranquil surrounds. Try Severn dam, Macintyre River and Dumaresq River for Murray Cod, golden and silver perch, cod and jewfish.
Have a pot and a yarn
If you like to listen to a good story or two, drive 20 minutes south of Toowoomba to a town called Nobby. Head for Rudd's Pub, named after Steele Rudd, author of the classic Dad n' Dave yarns, and listen to a comical tale or two over a cold one and a hearty roast.
