North Coast NSW
Your holiday adventure can take you from the ranges to the beaches, providing everything you could want from a classic summer holiday all year around. Stretching from Port Stephens to Coffs Harbour and inland to Dorrigo, North Coast NSW offers a unique taste of New South Wales. Whether you head to one of the popular coastal meccas, such as Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour and Port Stephens, or explore one of the region's stunning national parks - you are bound to find a perfect holiday escape. For sheer beauty it is difficult to surpass the golden beaches which dot the coastline.
Greater Port Macquarie is steeped in maritime history, and at the Maritime Museum's three venues you have the opportunity to relive over 100 years of heritage as each provide a variety of exhibits. The Museum encompasses two separate cottages which were originally built as pilot cottages in 1896. Now they house a wonderful collection of memorabilia and artefacts including superbly built scale models of a variety of vessels, charts, maps, paintings and an extensive collection of historical maritime photographs. Within walking distance from town, approximately 10 minutes from the centre of town, drive by car or catch public transport.
The Cundletown Lower Manning Historical Society is the ideal place for people seeking to explore their family history in the lower Manning Valley. The museum contains many displays and photos of industry and business from early days, with a large display on dairy and related industries. The museum, open 10am to 3pm Tuesday to Sunday, also has a coffee and craft shop selling home made products and craft.
