Old Colony Inn (Attraction)
The Old Colony Inn can be found at New Norfolk, just 30 minutes from Hobart. Discover this historic home and tea rooms, furnished with antiques from across Europe. The Old Colony Inn began life in 1815 as a hop shed and was later extended to become a private home. It served as a school gymnasium and barracks over the years and in 1940 was bought by antique dealer and artist William Rees. Today it is home to one of Australia's largest antique doll's houses. Arthurs Lake
This popular angling location, east of Great Lake on the edge of the Central Plateau, has good facilities for boat launching and camping. To reach Arthurs Lake from the south, take the A5 for 50 km beyond Bothwell. From the north, follow the B51 for 60 km south of Cressy. This is a high and exposed location and weather in the highlands can change fast, making boating conditions dangerous. Please carry all required safety equipment and check local weather forecasts before you launch.

Nant Distillery
Nant Distillery, nestled in the Central Highlands north west of Hobart, produces handcrafted single malt Tasmanian whisky. Located on the Nant Estate in Bothwell, Nant Distillery honours traditional distillation methods to produce the Nant double and single malt whiskies. Incorporating only the finest local ingredients, this farm-based distillery uses pristine Central Highlands water. As part of the Heritage-listed farm complex, the distillery is housed in a convict-built sandstone flour mill (1823) which has been meticulously restored. Waddamana Power Station Museum
The Waddamana Power Station in Tasmania's central highlands is now a fascinating hydro-electric museum. It is a tribute to the beginning of integrated hydro-electric development in Tasmania, featuring an array of machinery, memorabilia, photographs and artefacts. In 1916 electricity generated by harnessing the power of falling water " hydro-electricity", first came to Hobart from Waddamana Power Station. Tours can be booked for groups of 10 people or more . Accommodation is available at Waddamana Village, built to accommodate workers who constructed Waddamana. Open daily 10am to 4pm excluding Christmas Day and Good Friday.
