Phaedrus Estate
Phaedrus Estate is a small, innovative winery situated on a ten acre vineyard on the Mornington Peninsula. It was established in 1997 by qualified winemakers Ewan Campbell and Maitena Zantvoort who had a vision to make a benchmark Australian Pinot Noir. Half the vineyard is planted to five different clones of Pinot Noir and the rest is planted to Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Shiraz. "Phaedrus" (pron. Fee-druss) is a character in Robert Pirsig's seminal work "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" who concludes that Quality is when Art and Science combine.
