Tantangara Dam is a concrete gravity dam that was completed in 1960. One of the 16 major dams of the Snowy Mountains Scheme it is 45.1 metres high and 216.4 metres in length. Tantangara Dam has a capacity of 254 gigalitres, and is on the Murrumbidgee River, wholly within the Kosciuszko National Park.
