Green Island Tours Tasmania were and still are the only Tasmanian company arranging and conducting multi-day “touring style” bicycle tours in Tasmania. They offer good value for money whilst ensuring full attention to detail. Because of their location along the cycling route they have unmatched local knowledge.

Offering different accommodation categories, all self-guided tours can be customised, supported tours are conducted on demand using a purpose-built, enclosed trailer.

All bikes are fully serviced to a very high standard and are covered by RACT roadside assist. Different models are available, including hi-end custom-made touring bikes made in Germany.

This supported bike tour from Launceston to Hobart is suitable for all fitness levels. The support vehicle is never far away. This tour will depart on demand for groups of 2 to 11 guests.

The first section heads inland across the beautiful North East, an astonishing contrast of rolling green hills and temperate rainforest with many scenic stopping points. The East Coast is a classic tourist route, more or less on the flat, with far-stretching white beaches and a mild and sunny climate.

You will visit spectacular places like Freycinet National Park and Tasman Peninsula with historic Port Arthur. You can also spend time on world class beaches, including the stunning Bay of Fires.

This tour from Hobart to St. Helens via the East coast is our easiest tour. It may be booked on its own or as an add-on to one of our other tours. Although not essential, it helps if you have done a similar tour before and are not totally unfit.

You can depart on any day of your choice. The tour can be customised to your needs. We will supply a very detailed route-description from hotel to hotel with many tips.

The East Coast is a classic tourist route, more or less on the flat with pristine white beaches and a mild, dry and sunny climate. You will visit some beautiful historic towns, Freycinet National Park and also get the opportunity to spend time on world class beaches including the stunning Bay of Fires.

From St. Helens there is a bus connection to Launceston and Hobart.

This tour from St. Helens to Launceston is for cyclists who are moderately fit.

It is the perfect addition to our East Coast tour as it continues to Launceston. The tour heads inland through an astonishing contrast of rolling green hills and temperate rainforest with a number of scenic points of interest along the way.

You will see Tasmania’s second highest waterfall at 90 metres, a beer drinking pig, the wood carvings of Legerwood, a small country town and can even cycle on the North East trail, a former railway line.

This tour from Launceston to Hobart via the West Coast is for experienced cyclists only. It may be booked on its own or as an add-on to our East Coast tour for a full island circle. You can depart on any day of your choice. The tour can be customised to your needs. We will supply a very detailed route-description from hotel to hotel with many tips.

The route goes through the spectacular wilderness of the highland and alpine regions, much of it through very dramatic scenery in World Heritage listed areas. It is different to the East Coast, less populated with a rugged landscape and varying weather.

You will have the opportunity to visit Cradle Mountain, Lake St. Clair and Mount Field National Parks and will pass through old mining towns like Queenstown and Zeehan.
