Begin the day with an optional visit to Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park, where you may walk amongst a private collection of beautiful Australian birds and animals. Many of these animals were rescued by the Park owners and can be fed and touched. Then on to pristine Flinders Chase, where you may search for koala, echidna and platypus and see the Dama wallaby and Western Grey kangaroo grazing in their natural habitat. Enjoy a picnic or barbecue lunch at Rocky River including local produce. Visit Remarkable Rocks, which stand like a sentinel against the wild ocean, magnificent to explore or photograph. Admiral’s Arch is one of Kangaroo Island’s highlights. Here you can observe the colony of 3,000 New Zealand fur seals as they feed, swim and laze on the rocks. Afternoon tour options can include a hike to the Rocky River mouth or secluded West Bay and Hanson Bay is a delightful spot to stop for an afternoon cuppa on the way home.
