Solitary Restaurant and Kiosk
Solitary Restaurant and Kiosk occupies one of the most fortunate sites in the Blue Mountains, with views which extend over the Jamison Valley and Mount Solitary all the way to the Southern Highlands.
Inspired by the site, and its romantic heritage listing as one of the Blue Mountains original kiosks built in 1913, John Cross and Georgia Shepherd took over the site in 2000. The couple have injected it with passion, and earned a reputation for serving superb food in an ambience of easy sophistication which has won them many prestigious awards.
Solitary is the site of many a marriage proposal and weddings on the magnificent front lawn are a common sight.
More recently, the couple extended Solitary's opening hours to 7 days to offer a more casual alternative to their fine restaurant menu. The Solitary Kiosk menu is available for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea everyday, and for breakfast on week-ends. There are tables both indoors and outdoors for those sparkling Blue Mountains days. Sitting astride the Prince Henry Cliff Walk, it is the perfect refuelling stop midway between Leura Falls and Echo Point.
Indulge in a wonderful lunch and one or two glasses of wine whilst still enjoying the view. Oh and the coffee is the best on offer in the Blue Mountains!
