Kanangra Boyd National Park
Located 180 kilometres west of Sydney in the Great Dividing Range, Kanangra Boyd National Park conserves a rugged wilderness terrain providing opportunities
for self-reliant recreation. The park is part of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area.
The 68,276 ha conserved within the park is made up of two land units, the elevated gently undulating boyd plateau and the labyrinth of creeks, rivers, deep gorges and spiney ridges into which the plateau falls away.
The plateau is traversed by the road from Jenolan Caves to Kanangra Walls, allowing easy access to vehicle based camping, bushwalking and lookouts on the rim of the plateau.
Basic camping is available at Boyd Crossing.
Facilities include toilets, barbecues, bins and firewood.
There are 3 interesting scenic walks which begin and return to the car park at Kanangra. These are the Lookout Walk, Waterfall Walk, Plateau Walk.
The wilderness qualities of the park have made it popular for extended bushwalking. You should not undertake these strenuous walks unless accompanied by experienced bushwalkers.
