Goomblars Dreaming
For fifteen years Goomblar held a personal dream to create this show in order to share some of the beauty inherent in Aboriginal Cultural and Spiritual Knowledge with people from all walks of life. He now brings this show to you at The Edge in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales.
The didgeridoo (yidaki) is never far from Goomblar’s side.
“Goomblar’s Dreaming” is the story told of how the didgeridoo first came about. A story handed down from generation to generation. The “dreaming” tells how the different sounds imitated from nature could be produced by the didgeridoo to connect the people through song and dance, to their custodial obligation as caretakers of the land and animals.
Goomblar himself follows in the custom of thousands of years where the Aboriginal people of Northern Australia have used the didgeridoo both as a spiritual healing instrument and as a means to unite the people through song and dance to their cultural inheritance.
