Throsby Park Historic Site
Set on 74 hectares of Southern Highlands grazing land, the homestead's historic farm buildings provide an interesting illustration of life as an early colonial landholder.
Throsby Park was owned and operated by five generations of the Throsby Family. The house, begun in 1834, reflects the growth of the family, being extended to 27 rooms. The furniture used by the family is still in the house. The property Charles Throsby established is important as the first to be outside the comfortable Cumberland Plains. As well as the main house there is a series of farm buildings, a flour mill and the original stables.
The grounds of Throsby Park are open. Inspections of the interior can be arranged by calling the National Parks and Wildlife Service.
Open only by arrangement (available for group bookings) and on periodic open days; fees apply for tours. School education programs are conducted on request.
