Birrong Suri Alpaca Farm Tours
At Birrong Suri Alpacas they specialise in breeding the rare and exotic suri - a member of the alpaca family whose exquisite fleece is used to produce some of the most luxurious yarns and fabric in the world. Their award-winning herd of around 75 pure white suri thrive in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales.
When you join one of their exclusive one and a half hour farm tours you will learn all about suris and have plenty of opportunity to see and handle their animals - usually including cria (baby alpacas). You should come dressed for the outdoors (including strong enclosed shoes) to enjoy a guided tour of the farm.
Their suri fibre is all processed in Australia and for sale is a range of hand-dyed yarns, together with individually hand-crafted shawls, scarves, wraps and other garments, combining suri with silk and other natural fibres.

Farm ToursBirrong Suri Alpaca Farm is a working farm where you will learn all about the suri alpaca and have plenty of opportunity to see and handle some of their suris - usually including cria (baby alpacas). Come dressed in outdoor clothes in order to enjoy a guided tour of the farm. Don't forget to bring your camera - but please do not bring your dog! Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property. Group size is limited to a maximum of 12. A map and directions will be provided once your booking is confirmed by Tourism Southern Highlands. The farm is located on an unsealed road, approximately 40 minutes drive from Bowral. You will need your own car, there is no public transport to Canyonleigh! | |
