Strickland State Forest
The entrance to Strickland State Forest is at the top of Mangrove Road, Somersby. For a small forest, Strickland contains an impressive diversity of flora and fauna. Strickland is home to one of the oldest arboretums (native and exotic tree plantings) in Australia.
Picnic facilities are set in unique dry eucalypt forest. Barbecues, rustic seats, water and toilets are provided.
Educational walking trails feature cabbage tree palms, rainforest vegetation and historic site of first national forestry school. The Forest is associated with historic plantings and brilliant wildflower display in Spring.
