Cubby House Farmstay
The Cubby House" Farmstay is set on 1030 acres of pasture improved and natural bushland overlooking the picturesque Capertee Valley at 1100 metres above sea level, halfway between Mudgee and Lithgow.
Your hosts are John and Margaret Chadwick. We are situated a comfortable three and a half hours drive North West of Sydney off the Castlereagh Highway in scenic Running Stream. On the farm we run sheep, cattle and goats. You are welcome to pick your own seasonal vegetables and collect fresh free range chook eggs, if available. Other activities on the farm include bushwalking, discovering rock formations in the spectacular sandstone cliffs, wildlife, bird watching, stargazing, native flora, see a sheep get shorn enjoy a guide tour of the property or just relax and view the most spectacular valley in the world!.
The Capertee Valley is the largest canyon in the world (wider, than but not as deep as the Grand Canyon, USA), with more birds per square kilometre than anywhere else in the Southern Hemisphere.
The Cubby House is a beautifully presented three bedroom cottage which sleeps (9) nine people and is privately set near the main farmhouse. It is self-contained with just about every modern convenience. All you have to bring is your Food. Nearest grocery store is at Kandos 40 kilometres drive. We suggest you buy your food before you arrive at Running.

CottageThe Cubby House is a beautifully presented three bedroom cottage which accommodates up to (9) nine people and is privately set near the main farmhouse. The cottage is open plan with spacious lounge and dining area, country style kitchen, washing machine, full bathroom facilities and verandah surrounds the cottage. In the main bedroom there is a king size bed and room for another single bed in the corner. In the second bedroom there are two single beds with room for another single bed or for a second couple we can convert the two single beds into a king size bed. In the third bedroom the same applies as in the 2nd bedroom. A cot is available upon request. High chair is available. | |
