Goulburn River Stone Cottages is a bushland retreat in the Upper Hunter Valley that provides rustic-style, comfortable accommodation, with open fireplaces, privacy, spectacular scenery, native wildlife and wonderful bushwalks.
It consists of self-contained cottages in a secluded valley, on the Goulburn River, 50 kilometres (40 minutes drive north) from Mudgee and 30 minutes drive north-east from Gulgong, in central west New South Wales.
This 2000-acre property is surrounded by the Goulburn River National Park.
Meander along the river through sandstone gorges, delight in watching birdlife by day or the stars at night from the verandah, or just relax in this wonderfully tranquil bushland.

River CottageThe River Cottage is situated in a sheltered position on the banks of the river, about 700 metres from the main house. Built of stone and local timber, it consists of a large living/kitchen area with a wide sunny verandah at the front and a basic bathroom at the back. The cottage is powered by gas and solar lights. An open fireplace heats the cottage during the colder months. This cottage sleeps up to four people (double bed, sofa bed and single bed on the verandah). Saddlers CottageSaddler's Cabin is a large stone and mudbrick dwelling, sleeping 6-8 people, situated on a sheltered ridge five minutes walk from the river. It consists of a central living/kitchen area with a futon couch that sleeps two, adjoined by a small sunroom (sleeping 2-4) and a small double bedroom (sleeping two). There is a large open fireplace and a bathroom, with both bath and shower. | |
