Bathurst Goldfields and Observatory

This attraction is an authentic reconstruction of a gold mining area which provides visitors with the opportunity to see how mining operations were carried out in the gold rush days.

Here you can a see a live museum, where you can relive some of the experiences of our Australian pioneers, and learn about the gold rushes that began in the Bathurst area in 1851.

This attraction operates solely as an educational centre but visitors can participate in a guided tour if there is one taking place that day. Bathurst Visitors' Centre has times of these tours each week.

The Bathurst Observatory, you can experience the wonders of our universe. See stars, planets, nebula and more. Open every clear night for night viewing, tour times vary depending on the season.
