Gilgandra Flora Reserve
The Gilgandra Flora Reserve, located 14.5 kilometres north east of the town, is 8.5 hectares of lovely bushland, located on both sides of the road, which makes it an ideal picnic location. Always beautiful, the Reserve is spectacular in spring, with plants flowering from late August to November; most bloom in September and October.
Significant plants are the grass trees and the rare Pink Phebalium. Facilities include barbecues, shelters, tables and seats, rainwater and toilets.
The best time to see the flora reserve is late August to October each year. This period around spring is generally when the native flora is most spectacular and native birds and wildlife is most active
