Orange Botanic Gardens

The Orange Botanic Gardens feature an impressive native and exotic plant collection. Officially opened in 1988 for the Australian Bicentenary, it has plantings ranging from the original homestead garden to newly developed displays.

The Country Walk offers all the pleasures of a stroll through varying landscapes. Features of the walk include the original homestead garden, billabong, exotic and indigenous woodlands, heritage orchard including historic apple varieties, heritage rose garden set below the country church and analemmatic sundial (human involvement sundial).

Located between the two billabongs set below the Country Church is the Federation Arch, a stainless steel sculpture designed by Bert Flugelman and donated to the Gardens and residents of Orange by the Orange Regional Arts Foundation.

The Orange Botanic Gardens are ideal for a mid-morning stroll, leisurely afternoon picnic or an enjoyable game of bocce on the lawns.
