311 Yorks Corner
York's Corner enjoys spectacular views from its location in the North West of Lake Macquarie to the South Eastern parts including Swansea Channel where the Lake meets the Pacific Ocean.
The cottage includes two queen size bedrooms which sleeps 4 adults in self contained privacy and comfort and ample off street parking. You can also enjoy the spectacular views of the lake from the verandah.
The House now known as York's Corner started its life as an opium den somewhere near Newcastle Harbour early last century. It was just one room and the current owner, Beatrice Bilborough's father Chris York moved it with horse and dray to where it now stands overlooking Kooroora Bay on the Northern Shores of Lake Macquarie.
The York family including Beatrice used the one room as a weekender until Chris moved the family home from West Wallsend to the block next door at 309 Main Road. Again with horse and dray.
A bathroom and kitchen were added and later renovated to the current 2 bedroom cottage. York's Corner was one of the first structures built at Fennell Bay.
Geoff Bilborough, Beatrice's son, manages the property and remembers the village growing to what it is today.
York's Corner enjoys spectacular views from its location in the North West of Lake Macquarie to the South Eastern parts including Swansea Channel where the Lake meets the Pacific Ocean.
Lake Macquarie is an ever-changing kaleidoscope of activity and remains a fascination for all to just sit on the verandah and watch the world go by.
