Gloucester Historical Society

Gloucester District Historical Society is housed in the first Shire Council Chambers built in 1909 and the building is listed on National Trust Register.
Displays of World War I & II memorabilia, a pioneer gallery, Australiana furniture and general gadgets. The displays include samples of sewing and
clothes, carpenters tools, extensive collection of rocks minerals, and gemstones, plus aboriginal artefacts. Many historical records are available
to browse through. The old school building used in the Upper Bowman between 1938-1968 is also on display, this is one of the only one-teacher school
buildings left.
