Marthaville Guildry Craft and Gift Centre
Marthaville Guildry Craft and Gift Centre - The rooms of this historic cottage are filled with an extensive range of unique, locally handcrafted gifts, from which purchases may be made.
Marthaville was built by George Brown. The twin-gabled homestead is the first sawn timber dwelling of the area, completed 1886 and named 'Marthaville' after his wife Martha.
In 1970 the homestead was occupied by his grand daughters. The purchase and renovation started as part of the bicentenary project and was handed over to the people of Cessnock. Sufficient funds were raised to turn it into a unique art and craft centre. Marthaville Guildry Craft and Gift Centre was established in November 1995.
During the week, workshops are held in the function room, by groups including Wine Country Bear Club and Cessnock Floral Art Group.
