Catherine Hill Bay
Located just 90 minutes north of Sydney, Catherine Hill Bay was originally a historic coal mining town. A sleepy community nestled in between two National Park areas, the town is now a popular destination for surfers and swimmers alike, who enjoy its secluded location and its untouched feel. The beach is also home to a coal loading dock, giving it's southern end a unique working history. Up until recently, coal ships docked at the beaches extended jetty to load up from the nearby colliery.
