Sweeping views of the Hunter Valley's Broke Fordwich district make visiting picturesque Catherine Vale Vineyard a priority on your wine tasting agenda. Come and visit our cellar door and enjoy a picnic or barbecue. At Catherine Vale Bill and Wendy Lawson grow premium Semillon and Chardonnay grapes . Our Italian red varieties Dolcetto and Barbera have been well received. The 2006 Barbera was awarded top score in hte recent Alternative Varieties Wine Show. James Halliday continues to give us a 4 star rating with our Semillon receiving top markes , closely fllowed by Chardonnay and Verdelho and the red. The Madeira we are serving presently is 8 years old and has nice characteristics.
The Lawson Family home overlooking the vineyard is the re-located Edwardian style Uniting Church Manse from nearby Singleton. Gradual restoration is making this a local landmark.Visit the vineyard and taste the wines at our new cellar door which is a replica of a turn of the century country church.
