History Tour - Segenhoe InnSegenhoe Inn was built by convicts in 1837, is now 173 years old. 20,000 acres which became known as Segenhoe Estate was granted to Thomas Macqueen in 1823. Macqueen was a member of British Parliament and was very keen on securing his piece of the Great Southern Land. He commissioned two ships in 1824 to sail to Australia laden with free settlers, mostly Scottish, to work the estate. Restored to its former grandeur and furnished with antiques, silver and crystal, historic Segenhoe Inn is a must-see for lovers of Australian History and who are enamoured by the gracious living of times past. There is much to learn on this tour which also includes a tour of the gardens which are often used for weddings and other special garden functions. Why not consider, not just the tour but immerse yourself in this interesting story by choosing to stay at the Inn. | |
