Mt Kembla Heritage Centre

Mt Kembla Heritage Centre is now featuring a New South Wales Government Heritage Volunteers Award Winning display ‘Thunder in a Cloudless Sky’ focused on the 1902 Mt Kembla Mine Disaster.

Booked appointments are designed for small bus groups and provide lunch at Mt Kembla Hotel and a guided tour of the historic Mt Kembla precinct.
Costs are variable.

Their committee is comprised of a group of real workers committed to promoting the Mining Heritage of Mt Kembla. They represent a wide cross section of the Mt Kembla Community, as their membership includes people from most of the Villages' other community groups, including the core committee of the Mine Disaster Centenary 2002.

They also have some history research groups who are compiling their social history past and present.

This Festival will be held each year on the weekend closest to the time of the Mt Kembla Mine Disaster - 31 July 1902.
