Jumbulla Aboriginal Discovery Centre
The Jumbulla Aboriginal Discovery Centre is a brand new attraction located on the Princess Highway 45 minutes south of Sydney at Bulli Tops overlooking the escarpment. It focuses on the social history and culture of the Aboriginal people of Tharawal country - the area known as Illawarra and the South Coast.
The overall theme is “come walk our Footprints” and there are 4 different theatres where a number of narrations are presented in a unique blend of cutting edge technology and human interaction. The theatres focus on“ Welcome to Country” by a local person using interactive screens and stories “The Land” using digital glass technology; “The Family” using water screens and a “Togetherness” theatre using interactive multi screens. Intersperse amongst these theatres will be a Hairy Man story specially design for children and other quality displays which provide an opportunity for visitors to delve into specific moments of contemporary Aboriginal history of Australia.
In addition to these great experiences customers will be able to participant in a traditional Aboriginal experience in a fun and interactive manner.
There are authentic arts and crafts available to purchase produced by the local Aboriginal community and Aboriginal communities Australia wide.
